Popular children’s retailer unveils new store at Legends

The Children’s Place opened its doors today at Tanger Kansas City at Legends, adding another family-friendly retailer to the popular Wyandotte County shopping destination.

The store occupies a 6,698-square-foot space next to Old Navy, near the east end of the complex. As North America’s largest children’s specialty apparel retailer, The Children’s Place offers clothing and accessories for newborns through mid-teens, with an emphasis on trendy styles at accessible prices.

Kenny Delaquila, Marketing Director at Tanger Kansas City at Legends, called the addition an exciting step forward, noting that the brand strengthens the center’s retail mix and improves the shopping experience for local families.

Shoppers were already browsing the racks on opening day. Zar, a Kansas City mother shopping for her infant son and elementary-age daughter, said she came in looking for spring and summer outfits. She praised the store’s wide selection, saying it feels spacious and offers more variety, especially when it comes to baby items.

The layout appears designed with families in mind, and its wide aisles make it easy to navigate with a stroller or small children in tow. Staff on hand were friendly and helpful, greeting customers and assisting with sizing and selections. The store is also planning a big weekend ahead, with promotions and prizes to celebrate its grand opening.

The Children’s Place joins more than 100 stores at the 690,000-square-foot open-air center, including family-oriented retailers like Old Navy, Crocs, and Toys”R”Us, and nationally-known brands such as Coach, H&M, Sephora, and Nike.
