A Kansas City, Kansas man has been charged with first-degree murder in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred early Saturday morning in the 700 block of North 11th Street.
Kevin Calamaco-Morales, 22, was charged by the Wyandotte County District Attorney’s Office with felony first-degree murder and criminal discharge of a firearm in the death of Ana Juarez, 20, also of KCK, according to the police department.
Officers were dispatched to the area at 4:26 a.m. on Nov. 1st on a shooting call. When they arrived, they found Juarez outside a residence suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. She was transported to a local hospital, where she died from her injuries.
Calamaco-Morales is being held in the Wyandotte County Jail on a $500,000 bond and is also the subject of a detainer by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. He is scheduled for a Nov. 18 hearing in front of district judge Renee Henry.
