The Kansas City, Kansas Police Department helped its KCMO counterpart identify the suspect in a deadly string of shootings this week, a man who already has an outstanding warrant in Wyandotte County. They’re asking for the public’s help in finding him, though they stress that he is dangerous and should not be confronted.
Investigators named Oscar Sanchez-Munoz, 22, of Independence, Mo., as the suspect in a homicide and shootings that struck mainly along I-70 on Tuesday, Jun. 16.
Sanchez-Munoz already faced a Wyandotte County warrant from a Jun. 11 criminal discharge of a firearm.

Independence standoff and search
The Tuesday shootings led to a standoff at a burned house in Independence. Independence and Blue Springs police held the scene overnight until fire personnel determined the house was safe to enter. Officers searched the home Wednesday morning but did not find the suspect.
later that morning, KCMO homicide detectives processed the scene, along with local fire department personnel, Missouri fire marshals, and canine units. By Wednesday afternoon, the search had not turned up Sanchez-Munoz.
Kansas City detectives are actively pursuing other leads to find him. At the house, police recovered the vehicle they believe was used in the shootings.
Anyone who sees Sanchez-Munoz or knows where he is should call 911.
