KCK declares Snow Emergency for incoming storm

Effective Jan. 4 at 6:00 p.m. through Jan. 7 at 8:00 a.m., the Unified Government has declared a snow and parking emergency for Kansas City, Kan.

The state of emergency allows for cars that get stuck to be ticketed and towed, and it prohibits vehicles from being parked on the street on any marked snow route.

The last snow emergency in KCK was Dec. 21, 2022 when below-zero temperatures and heavy snow shut down local highways.
