The Unified Government of Wyandotte County and KCK has launched two new emergency alert systems: IPAWS and Everbridge.

IPAWS is FEMA’s national alert system that sends Wireless Emergency Alerts directly to mobile phones in a targeted area, similar to Amber Alerts. This system is designed to work even when cellular networks are overloaded.
