Argentine shines: Photos from Silver City Day parade

Argentine’s own Pumper 7, which protects the neighborhood year-round from Station 7 just east of Emerson Park, led off the parade.

The Silver City Day parade and festival took place on Saturday. Hosted by the Argentine Betterment Corporation, the event brought out schools, bands, churches, cars, candidates, boxers, dancers, and horses marching down Strong Ave. to Emerson Park.

In the park, crowds gathered around as the Harmon, Schlagle, Sumner, Washington, and Wyandotte marching bands tried to out-do each other.

After the battle of the bands came to an amicable conclusion, the upbeat Latin-infused sounds of SouLuna took over on the pavilion stage while crowds mingled among food and craft vendors.

Ramon and Sally Murguia were honored as grand marshalls of the parade.
