The Unified Government has two new ethics commissioners after the Ad Hoc Ethics Commission Appointment Panel selected Martha Jenkins and Adrion C. Roberson to join the Unified Government Ethics Commission. Jenkins and Roberson were sworn in on Aug. 14.

The Ethics Commission is charged with reviewing violations of the UG’s Code of Ethics, making recommendations on improvements to the code, and providing opinions about potential ethical issues. The public can report ethics issues to the commission by phone at 913-621-3294 or by email at ethics.wycokck@gmail.com.

Jenkins is a retired attorney who most recently served as general counsel and chief ethics officer for the District of Columbia Board of Alcohol Beverage Control. She is also an ordained Episcopal deacon and serves at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in KCK.

Roberson is pastor of the Kairos Life Church, and executive director of KC United! Youth/Family Education & Sports Initiative. The organization, originally Wyandotte County Youth Football and Cheer, provides after-school sports and education programs to improve the lives of youth and their families.
