With a severe snowstorm forecast for the area, several county services will be affected. Unified Government offices will be closed, and employees in those offices will work remotely. USD 500 schools and KCK public library branches are also closed.

District court hearings will be continued to a later date, except remote hearings, which are at the discretion of the judge. All municipal court hearings are postponed.

The cold weather shelter at the Wilhelmina Gill Service Center will be open tonight and whenever the low temperature is forecast to be below 25 degrees.

Street crews have already treated the main and secondary routes and are on standby for plowing when the snow accumulates.
